Forty Rules of Love by Elif Shafak

What an unexpected storyline really. That’s all the spoiler I will give you. I was quite happy reading the book. I did not pick it up for a very long time thinking it will be just another love story and I wasn’t doing love stories at that time. I wanted to take a break from… Read more

  • Loss Or Change?

    Loss Or Change?

~ It doesn’t take words to grasp loss. It’s that silence, the awkwardness, the language of touch, of positioning oneself beside the other that gives away— even though some things never change, they’ll also never be the same. Rejoice in what is here— now— don’t mourn already for what will not be. Things change, people change… Read more

  • Her: The Universe

    Her: The Universe

She belonged to no world. She was the world, or rather the universe. There were galaxies in her charcoal locks that sparkled from afar. She had no name, just a sex— ‘she’. She was therefore named ‘Her’. However, Her was just a pronoun, a derivative of she, so she never really bothered with a name.… Read more

Are You Feeling What I’m Feeling?

Is it just me? Recent news has been getting to me yet again. In a way it is a healthy sign that at least I am not desensitised. I don’t think I will allow myself to be desensitised again. I had a phase before, especially around Covid-19 and after and then I worked really hard… Read more
